How I reversed my Heart Disease by Robert Cross

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Here is a personal disease reversal story by Robert Cross. This comes from Dr. John McDougall’s website, www.drmcdougall.com.  John is one of the great pioneers of plant-based lifestyle medicine and is a big, big, hero of mine who I mention numerous times in my book.  Robert changed his dietary ways after reading my father’s book, Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, and hasn’t looked back. Goooo Robert, gooo!!

When my chest pains began I was in fairly typical health for a man of 61 years of age who eats the Standard American Diet. My body had gradually deteriorated over the years and I had become a frequent customer of doctors and pharmacists. Several times a day I swallowed pills for blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, and re-current kidney stones. Worst of all, it seemed that every few months I needed higher doses of these medicines, and none of the lifestyle suggestions made by my doctors or the dieticians seemed to be doing me any good. I was resigned to watching my health deteriorate, while hoping that I would avoid the serious consequences that loomed on the horizon. My 250-pound body weight was another forecaster of the future soon to come.

Heart Disease fells another Firefighter

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

My heartfelt prayers go out to family, friends, and fellow firefighter’s of James Hall, from Canton, Ohio. Heart disease kills more firefighters and Americans than any other disease with instant death being the first symptom 50 percent of the time . This is brutal and incredibly sad given they will never get another chance. A chance to change diet and lifestyle habits which we KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt can not only halt but also reverse heart disease in its tracks. Heart disease and the other major western chronic killer diseases are “paper tigers” which have zero power when you take away the fuel which feeds them; meat, dairy, eggs, and refined foods.

Fireman Died Of Heart Attack

CANTON, Ohio — A funeral with full honors is planned for a local firefighter who suffered a fatal heart attack playing a charity basketball game. Canton’s fire chief said 40-year-old James “Marty” Hall is considered to have died in the line of duty because his death Saturday came less than 24 hours after he worked a shift. Chief John Whitlatch said a death such as Hall’s can be tied to work-related stress, according to International Association of Fire Fighters standards.

Friday’s funeral is expected to draw hundreds of firefighters from throughout the region. A procession will include fire vehicles, an honor guard, color guard and pipers.

Hall was a Canton fire captain but the shift he worked before his death was for a suburban volunteer fire company.
